A lot of companies will sell printers with the hopes that you will buy and use their name brand disposable cartridges. But, you do not HAVE to use brand name ink. The manufacturers are not allowed to void your warranty because you choose to be environmentally and cost conscious. They used to threaten their clients because without the purchase of disposable cartridges, they were losing money. Selling their name brand cartridges was and is where they make their money. Of course they hope that you will not purchase re-manufactured cartridges as that does not benefit them but it is YOUR choice now, not theirs.
